The Institute

For the Training and Humiliation of the Submissive Male

Sara paused for a moment at the door to the office. It was unmarked. She wondered what she might have done if there had been a sign on the door that read The Institute for the Training and Humiliation of the Submissive Male when she applied for the job. Would she have ever walked through the door? Were she not desperate for employment of any kind, would she have listened to herself in that moment?

Dr. Trainor, who insisted Sara address as Jocelyn, was unnerving for a variety of reasons. Jocelyn’s personality was fiercely dominant, and she not only had very specific expectations for how everything and everyone would operate in her sphere of influence, but she also possessed the will and wherewithal to make it so.

The part that was most unsettling began when Jocelyn asked her if she’d any experience in being dominant in any of her relationships with men.

Dr. Trainor’s pen was held aloft, prepared to indicate Sara’s response.

“Yes,” she’d replied. “I have had an, um, a dominant relationship with a man.”

Sara had long been intuitive in reading people. In interviews, she could generally see when she’d gotten the job.

“I would like to offer you the position,” Jocelyn informed her.

So begins Sara’s unique position with an organization involved in studying the complete and unrelenting domination of the submissive male. She does not know what to expect, but even so, what happens will be far beyond what she might have even dared to expect when she goes to work for The Institute.
